Dobson jumps shark

I have never been a big fan of Dr. Dobson, perhaps he has jumped the shark before. The The Economist thinks so. I enjoyed listening to some of his radio programs years ago - but over the last few years I have not liked his tone in the political debate. BTW, this has nothing to do with Thompson, he could have said the same think about McCain, Giuliani, Romney, Obama, or Clinton and I would feel the same way.

This just feels so wrong in so many ways. I find this very uncomfortable to read.
"Everyone knows he's conservative and has come out strongly for the things that the pro-family movement stands for," Dobson said of Thompson. "[But] I don't think he's a Christian; at least that's my impression," Dobson added...while Dobson didn't believe Thompson to be a member of a non-Christian faith, Dobson nevertheless "has never known Thompson to be a committed Christian—someone who talks openly about his faith."

"We use that word—Christian—to refer to people who are evangelical Christians," Schneeberger added. "Dr. Dobson wasn't expressing a personal opinion about his reaction to a Thompson candidacy; he was trying to 'read the tea leaves' about such a possibility."
I would have trouble finding a more narrow minded definition of Christian outside a cult fringe-group. WAAAAAAAYYYYYY over the shark. Just speaking as one Evangelical - Dr. Dobson has no influence over who I vote for, and he never has.

Hat tip Drudge.
